 | Kansas: Through My LensI've been inspired to photograph Kansas and the Great Plains during many visits to our family that have made Kansas and that part of the country their home for many generations. Kansas epitomizes what I imagine the heartland of America to be. It has a certain innateness all it’s own that embodies the beauty of its landscape and the people that live there.

| Fire and Ice Charity Car Show The 2007 Fire and Ice Charity Car Show was held at the annual River Fest in Bothell, Washington. There were numerous vehicles of all kinds and vintages participating with the registration proceeds benefiting Hopelink (a local charity that makes a tremendous difference in so many people's lives).

 | Local FestivalsDuring the summer months in the Seattle area, there are an abundance of outdoor festivals that people converge on and thoroughly enjoy! These festivals allow Seattleites to shed the cold, rainy winter blues, some of their inhibitions and simply enjoy the warm weather, festival food, music, arts and crafts, as well as the always unique and interesting people watching.

 | The Hot Shop Glass artists from the Pacific Northwest have played a major role in the Studio Glass Movement as it developed around the world. Particularly, Dale Chihuly has influenced the movement, first with his personal artistry and then through the Pilchuck Glass School. These events led to the creation of the Tacoma Museum of Glass and their Hot Shop where people can actually experience glass pieces being created.

 | Woodland Park Zoo The African Village exhibit at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle offers a unique learning experience for visitors of all ages. The African Village is an interactive re-creation of a rural east African village. Kids, especially, enjoy exploring the village and discovering what living might actually like in a village in east Africa.
