About Alex Brikoff
Alex Self PortraitAlthough my interest in photography started during my teen years, it has continued to hold my interest through the years and grown to be the artistic passion in my life. My interest in the art has evolved mainly around the Street Photography, type of photography. I have always felt that Street Photography, is one of the purest forms of photography. In the sense that most photographs are created in a fraction of a second, so are Street Photographs.  The photograph captures a moment of life, an expression or an emotion that can never, ever be recreated again.  I endeavor to capture this essence in my photographs.

Lately, I have been exploring other emerging photographic interests that include landscape photography, informal portraiture and concert photography.  In my landscape images, I try not to capture the abstract as much as I try to capture and document a moment of a vanishing landscape. This is especially evident in my “Kansas Landscapes through the Lens” portfolios which are available on this website. My concert photography captures images of local area Jazz and Blues musicians performing at local venues. I find that, of all the photography I do, concert photography is the most challenging. The combination of low light and fast paced action is very much a challenge to my skills as a photographer. But I welcome the challenge because; as with all things worth doing, challenges help us grow, learn new skills and ways of doing things. Photography is no different. My hope is that you enjoy my collections of images and come back often to see new additions to the portfolios.
